About the event
We are delighted to be able to welcome Vari McLuskie to Bristol to lead a Day of Mindfulness at Bedminster Meeting House. Vari was ordained into the Order of Interbeing by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in 1995 and as a lay Dharma teacher in 2012. She has led many DoMs and retreats in the Plum Village tradition. This day promises to be peaceful, supportive and uplifting, and offers an opportunity to connect with others.
Bedminster Meeting House is a calm, light and tranquil space in south Bristol with a beautiful large garden, ideal for walking meditation.
To secure a place please RSVP - note that the maximum capacity at Bedminster Meeting House is 40, so early reservation is recommended.
Donations/Dana: to cover our costs we ask for a donation in the spirit of generosity. This could be:
- £20.00 standard donation
- £25.00 supporter donation
- £10.00 supported donation
- If it is not possible for you to donate any of these amounts, please donate what you can.
We ask that you make your donation directly to Bristol White Clouds Sangha bank account: sort code 089299, account 65732371 and tick the relevant box in the RSVP form. Please reference your donation SEPT 24 followed by your initials - this is quite important as it helps our Treasurer with the admin.
What to Bring
- We will enjoy a shared lunch so please bring some vegan food to share.
- Please bring a water bottle and your own cup or mug. Hot drinks will be provided.
- Please bring whatever you need to make yourself comfortable for sitting meditation. Chairs are available.
- Please also bring a blanket/rug/yoga mat for deep relaxation.
- Outdoor shoes for walking meditation and slippers/thick socks/indoor shoes for being inside.
- Donation/Dana for the teachings - it is traditional for the teachings to be freely offered. Attenders are given the opportunity to make a donation for the teachings should they wish. We are also collecting donations towards establishing a Being Peace Practice Centre in the UK. Cash or card are accepted.
Other Useful Information
- The day will start promptly at 10.00, so please arrive with enough time to settle yourself into the space.
- The No70 Bus from Bristol Centre goes to Wedmore Vale.
- There is limited parking space at the Meeting House and on street parking nearby.
- If you need a lift please email the bristolsangha@gmail.com inbox. There may be limited spaces available from North Bristol.
- On the day there will be an opportunity to make a donation of dana for the teachings, to contribute towards the Being Peace Practice Centre and to support the sangha.
